Restaurant & Inn Host Hourly, Seasonal (May–October)

Role Summary The Host at Pilgrim’s Inn is a hybrid role that combines hosting at the restaurant with front desk
duties at the inn. You’ll be greeting guests, managing reservations, and tackling daily
opportunities to make sure each visitor has a fantastic experience. If you’ve worked at a hotel
front desk or as a host in a fine dining restaurant, this role could be a great fit for you. At its core,
it is about making people feel welcome, being organized, and communicating well with both
guests and your teammates.
Pilgrim’s Inn Host Key Responsibilities At the Restaurant
● Greet and seat guests in the dining room and tavern, keeping everything running smoothly.
● Manage reservations using Tock and keep track of special requests.
● Help with phone calls, voicemails, and emails about dining reservations and inquiries.
● Work closely with the servers and kitchen to make sure guests have a great experience.
● Keep the host station and dining areas tidy and welcoming.
At the Inn
● Welcome guests checking in or out and help them feel at home.
● Assist guests with luggage, access to rooms, and directions as needed.
● Share information about our rooms, the inn’s amenities, dining options, and local attractions.
● Answer phone calls, texts, and emails about reservations or questions.
● Process payments and help guests with receipts or billing inquiries.
● Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to address guest needs.
Guest Services ● Be a friendly point of contact for guests throughout their visit, helping with all needs.
● Anticipate what guests might need and offer thoughtful solutions to make their stay better.
Administrative Tasks ● Keep accurate records of reservations and guests using ThinkReservations software.
● Help the managers with daily checklists and regular reporting for the restaurant and inn.
● Follow health, safety, and operational guidelines.
Qualifications ● Experience working at a hotel front desk and/or hosting in a fine dining restaurant.
● A knack for making people feel welcome and comfortable.
● Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and an attention to detail.
● Familiarity with reservation systems, basic office tools, and willingness to learn.
● Calm under pressure and able to handle different guest needs with ease.
● Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
