Legal Assistant / PLAINTIFF PERSONAL INJURY LITIGATION - Downtown Chicago

What separates Benjamin & Shapiro, Ltd., is unlike many personal injury firms based in the Downtown Chicago, our team of lawyers at Benjamin & Shapiro, Ltd., handle many personal injury cases outside of Cook County.

Responsibilities:

• Set up pre-litigation plaintiff personal injury cases, which includes ordering medical records and bills, wage loss verification, police reports, ambulance records and bills, photos and all other pertinent documentation to prepare our cases for positive resolution.
• Work with clients to update files, obtain information
• Utilize our Needles Case Management System so that all information and documentation is included on every case.
• Some phone relief
• Assist with the drafting and filing of legal documents- Complaints, Summons. Subpoenas, Interrogatories, Motions, Petitions, Orders, etc.
• Utilize Adobe, WordPerfect, Word, DocuSign, Needles Case Management System (user friendly), Excel, Outlook

​ Qualifications:

• Reliable
• Deadline and detail oriented.
• Some previous experience in a personal injury law firm - at least one year
• WordPerfect and Needles Software knowledge preferred but not required-user friendly
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and follow direction
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Hours are Monday through Thursday 8:30 to 5 and Fridays 8:30 to 3:00
