Job Description

Title: Senior/Staff Data Engineer Location: Hybrid in Palo Alto - 3x per week Role Overview: Join a fast-growing healthcare AI startup revolutionizing data-driven decision-making in healthcare. We leverage cutting-edge machine learning and AI to optimize patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. As a Senior Data Engineer , you will play a critical role in building and optimizing our ETL pipelines, ensuring seamless data integration, and maintaining compliance with healthcare data standards. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimize ETL pipelines to ingest, transform, and manage healthcare data at scale. Ensure compliance with healthcare data regulations and standards (HIPAA, HITRUST, FHIR, CDA, HL7v2). Develop and maintain data infrastructure using Azure cloud services , including Data Factory, Databricks, and Snowflake . Implement CI/CD best practices for data engineering workflows, ensuring robust and automated deployments. Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools e.g. Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) to provision and manage cloud resources. Qualifications: ~8+ years of experience in data engineering with a strong focus on ETL pipelining . ~ Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala for data processing and automation. ~ Expertise with healthcare data formats and standards (FHIR, CDA, HL7v2, HITRUST, HIPAA). ~ Experience with Azure cloud services , including Data Factory, Databricks, and Snowflake . ~ Familiarity with ETL tools and big data frameworks for scalable processing. ~ Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data engineering. ~ Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or similar tools. ~ Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and drive data engineering best practices .
