The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting with the oversight and completion of transportation construction projects, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with safety standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. This position involves coordinating with contractors, engineers, and local authorities to ensure that transportation projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant guidelines, maintaining the highest quality in all transportation projects.
High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of experience working with road construction. Prior soil and concrete testing experience is highly preferred. Prior experience with multiple projects and familiarity with FDOT projects is highly preferred. Certification as a transportation inspector or related credentials such as certifications for concrete, compaction, and civil tests are preferred. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Thorough knowledge of transportation construction standards, materials, and safety regulations. Demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel to all reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
