Job Summary The Housekeeping Manager at Kellogg Conference Hotel plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of hotel operations. This includes overseeing housekeeping staff, ensuring guest rooms and public spaces meet hotel standards, and coordinating with other departments such as Front Desk, Engineering, and Food & Beverage. The manager begins each day by assigning cleaning duties, checking supply inventory, and prioritizing rooms based on occupancy and special requests. Throughout the day, they conduct quality inspections, address guest requests, and ensure lost and found items are properly logged. At the end of the shift, the Daily Housekeeping Report is submitted to the General Manager, and any outstanding maintenance or guest service needs are communicated to the evening team. Beyond daily operations, the Housekeeping Manager is responsible for staff training, performance reviews, and inventory control. They implement a deep cleaning rotation schedule, conduct monthly hotel walkthroughs, and oversee sustainability initiatives such as reducing water consumption and using eco-friendly cleaning products. Additionally, they work closely with the Engineering Department to ensure all guestroom maintenance issues are addressed promptly through Guestware, and they coordinate with the Food & Beverage team to maintain cleanliness in banquet spaces. Emergency preparedness is another key responsibility, requiring the manager to train staff on fire evacuation, medical emergencies, and security protocols to ensure the safety of guests and employees. To maintain the highest standards, the Housekeeping Manager is expected to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), including room inspection scores above 90%, a guest satisfaction rating of 85% or higher, and efficient room turnover times. They also monitor staff attendance and efficiency, ensuring all assigned rooms are completed per shift. Their leadership directly impacts the hotel's guest experience, operational efficiency, and reputation for excellence. By fostering a culture of high standards and continuous improvement, the Housekeeping Manager plays an integral role in ensuring that guests enjoy a clean, comfortable, and welcoming stay at Kellogg Conference Hotel. Qualifications: 4 years of support services, military, housekeeping, and/or facilities maintenance experience. 1 or more years of supervisory/management experience. Strong work ethic, intense drive, and initiative for quality and customer service. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills both one-on-one and in group situations. Ability to utilize a participative approach to managing staff. Understanding of budgeting processes and awareness of profit and loss concepts. Excellent administrative and organizational skills and an ability to prioritize. Ability to function appropriately under stressful conditions. CRCST or any other applicable sterile processing certification is preferred. Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet. Associate’s degree is preferred. Apply to Flik today!
