Commercial Roofing Estimator – Houston, TX

Position Overview: My client, a leading U.S.-based service provider specializing in commercial restoration, construction, and roofing, is seeking a motivated and experienced commercial roofing estimator to join their growing team in Houston. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an industry leader who provides services for world-renowned commercial portfolio owners and operators. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurate cost estimation, client communication, and assisting in the coordination of roofing projects from pre-bid to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive project assignments from the Division Director and collaborate with internal teams to ensure precise and accurate cost estimations.
• Develop thorough and competitive cost estimates for commercial roofing projects, factoring in labor, materials, and equipment.
• Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and drawings to ensure a clear understanding of requirements.
• Conduct on-site visits and gather quantity takeoff measurements when needed to provide accurate cost assessments.
• Work with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to collect necessary data for comprehensive and accurate estimates.
• Ensure all required pre-bid documents and budgets are submitted in a timely manner before bid deadlines.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients to set expectations and provide progress updates.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure a smooth handoff from estimate phase to project execution.
• Support the selection and evaluation process for subcontractors and vendors when necessary.
• Prepare detailed turnover documentation and ensure a seamless transition to the Project Manager.
• Stay engaged with the project during production to track progress and resolve any emerging issues.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with both local and corporate clients to ensure satisfaction and continued business.

Required Qualifications:

• At least three (3) years of experience in commercial roofing estimating.
• In-depth understanding of construction practices, roofing techniques, and relevant building codes (local, state, and federal).
• Proficient in Edge Software and other estimating tools.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities, with a focus on attention to detail.
• Capable of managing multiple projects, prioritizing effectively, and meeting tight deadlines.
• Skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), with familiarity with Pipeline invitation-to-bid software being an advantage.
• Ability to interpret and follow work orders, safety protocols, and other procedural documentation.
• A Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of five (5) years of related experience and training in the field.
