Role Overview
We are seeking SAP Data Migration Specialists to lead the cleansing and profiling of data migrating from non-SAP systems into SAP S/4HANA. This position requires strong functional expertise to understand the data migration objects in supply chain areas (e.g., Ariba, contracts, bid management, enterprise portfolio & project management, PTP). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with data quality improvements and an understanding of how accurate data supports seamless integration into S/4HANA.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Data Assessment & Cleansing
    • Work with business and IT stakeholders to analyze existing data, detect duplicates or errors, and standardize fields for S/4HANA compatibility.
    • Implement data profiling techniques to ensure completeness, consistency, and clarity throughout the migration process.
  2. Functional Expertise in Supply Chain
    • Provide insight into data objects related to Ariba, contract and bid management, enterprise portfolio & project management, and PTP processes.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mapping logic that aligns with business requirements and S/4HANA best practices.
  3. Data Migration Coordination
    • Engage with the technical teams responsible for executing the loading tasks into S/4HANA.
    • Ensure that migrated data is validated according to business rules, highlighting gaps or issues for resolution.
  4. Testing & Validation
    • Participate in unit testing, integration testing, and mock cutovers to confirm data accuracy post-migration.
    • Coordinate with end-users to gather sign-off on final data sets and address any discovered defects or inconsistencies.
  5. Cutover & Hypercare Support
    • Assist in planning the cutover approach for final data loads, considering freeze periods and rollback strategies if needed.
    • Provide initial support to business users after go-live, quickly addressing data-related issues or updates.

Qualifications & Skills

  1. Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 7-10 years of hands-on experience in data migration for SAP environments (ECC or S/4HANA), particularly focusing on supply chain objects.
  2. Functional Knowledge
    • Proficient in areas like Ariba, contract/bid management, enterprise portfolio & project management, and PTP processes.
    • Able to interpret business requirements for these modules, ensuring the data migration accommodates the correct objects and structures.
  3. Data Cleansing & Profiling Expertise
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze large volumes of data, detect anomalies, and improve data quality to ensure a smooth migration.
    • Familiarity with basic data quality tools or manual methods to unify and standardize records.
  4. Soft Skills
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, especially when clarifying data-related issues with non-technical teams.
    • Proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
